Lawn Care Factory Is Fun

Before winter hits you want to make sure that you get your lawn ready for the long cold months ahead. Getting your lawn ready for winter is just as important as getting it ready for spring, but instead of waking up your lawn, you are going to be putting it to sleep.

One of the first things that you will want to do to get your lawn ready for winter is to mow the lawn to a short length; many people mow it as short as possible. After mowing the lawn you will want to do a good raking on the lawn to remove any dead or dying grass. Removing all of this debris will help your lawn soak up more of the water from the winter months.

After mowing and raking your lawn you will want to put down the proper fertilizer. You do not want to use a summer or spring fertilizer because the minerals and nutrients are going to be in different concentrations. Using a winter fertilizer will help your grass go to sleep for the winter, but when it reawakens it will be the greenest lawn on the block.
