I have been seeing it all too often with classmates and former classmates dropping out of school. Beth who is 26 quits school to get on with a large media company that pays here better than the salary most of us would be making after graduation.

While tons of people are signing up for school and getting college loans, which means even getting deeper in debt, their others that are just up and quitting college and getting great jobs. Think when it comes down to it it’s more about who you know rather than what you know.

I think people that are smart or going to school for business or marketing will be looking for the opportunity to join a large company despite the fact that they have not completed their degree. I don’t think companies are looking so much for degrees as they are finding people with the correct skills any longer. There’s a lot of new businesses out there and most of them are run by young energetic people who just know how to utilize the web properly. I doubt many of them have degrees.

If technology is advancing so quickly, that education needs to be advancing with. I don’t think this is happening, and this is primarily why when college students earn their degree, the knowledge that they need to be successful in the workplace has already developed and changed in itself.

While those are just my thoughts about college and education. Doesn’t matter if you go to school or not? I think if your family is pressuring you than I can be a tough decision. But it all comes down to what you want to learn, and how disciplined you are in either learning it within a classroom or learning it from home. Of course if you’re looking at medical careers then you will have to go to school and follow the curriculum. That being said, its time for me to get back to studies.
